As an updo artist in Central Fl, I've had some really awesome opportunities! One of those is working along side some amazing and talented artist's. They continually inspire me to become a better artist. We had to drive a long way for this fabulous wedding. It happened to be at a 'dude ranch' we may or may not have chuckled a little when we saw that, on the sign. Turns out it was a gorgeous venue for a wedding! Check out these gorgeous updo's I did for these bridesmaids! Kell, working her magic! I love the creative freedom these girls gave us. They looked stunning, in their gowns. I'm sure the wedding was nothing short of fabulous!
Brittney ~ xoxo ![]() How gorgeous is Holly!? I say it all the time. We have the most beautiful brides! We arrived super early ready for hair and make-up, on Holly's wedding day.. She had a beautiful wedding planned at the Omni! Such a tight group of friends. It always fabulous to see everyone come together, for a wedding! Check out her beautiful bridesmaids! Thanks RhodesSTUDIOS, for the fabulous images!! ![]() Can I just tell you how much I loved these girls?! So sweet, relaxed, and ready to have a great time! Their love story is so sweet, and unique. Jaime wrote about it here: Jason lived in Orlando, Florida, and I lived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, when we first met. In August of 2012 I was actually supposed to be traveling to Orlando with family for vacation, during the same week when Jason was set to compete in the Canadian National Waterski Tournament in Calgary. I chose to, however, stay back in Calgary because my employer at the time, Molson Brewing Company, needed my help working an event that just so happened to be the very waterski tournament that Jason would be competing in! Just a few weeks before our paths crossed at this event we had both publicly sworn to remain out of relationships and take the time to be solo and just have some fun remaining unattached. Both he and I had separately vowed we would not date anyone for a long time. He wanted to be single, and I wanted to travel. Thankfully, the universe had different plans for us! When our eyes first met there was an instant attraction, and thus began his parade of trying to capture my attention and get an invite out for drinks with my friends afterwards. Although I was skeptical and really didn't want anything serious to come out of it, I eventually invited him to join us after the event. It was an instant chemistry, and two days later I drove him to the airport to fly home to Orlando. I never really thought we would talk beyond that because of the distance between us. Needless to say, we talked endlessly after that! From texting to Skyping, it was soon clear to both of us that this wasn't just a random encounter. Fate had truly had a role in the two of our paths crossing! After a couple weeks and hours upon hours of conversations, I decided to take a leap of faith and fly to Orlando for a week just to see if the connection we were still feeling would translate in person as well. The week’s visit was fantastic, and I never wanted to get back on the plane! When I returned home to Calgary and we continued to talk, we decided to take the biggest leap of faith of all. After less than two months of knowing one another, we decided to get married so that I could soon apply for a US Visa so distance would never separate us again. We originally planned to keep our wedding a secret and plan a big wedding with everyone thinking that it was our first, but we soon realized that our mothers would kill us if they ever found out we hadn’t told them. We chose to tell our families, who thought we were absolutely nuts, but thankfully they had faith in our judgment. Both of us had had major relationships before, and if this was special enough to risk it all, they were behind us. We gave our parents one week’s notice that we were going to get married that Halloween and my family booked a trip down to be there for the special event. Thankfully, the moment they met him and the moment his parents met me they realized what it was that we saw in each other. So we got married 2 1/2 months after meeting each other, and one day after introducing each other to our families, and the rest has been absolutely magical! We continued to plan our big wedding, and it could not have been more perfect. We were always secretly concerned that people would think it was some big game of dress-up and would not understand why we chose to do what we did, but thankfully everyone was so supportive and our day was just as special as ever. So there are some fun little facts about us and how we met. It has been the best love story that I could have never imagined in my life, and I am so thankful each and every day that we both took that leap of faith. We could not imagine our lives without each other. And now, we are excited to welcome a little baby boy in August of this year! XO Jaime ![]() Thanks for letting us be a part of your day! Congratulations Jason & Jaime! Here's a list of the all star vendor's that made their day amazing!

Thanks Jenna & Shannon for taking time out of your busy schedule, for us! I love the holidays, and I love it when I find a good product! I thought I would share with you just a few of my favorite things! ![]() Davines OI Oil ~ This little bottle of oil is a gem, a gem I tell ya! As a hairdresser you can only imagine the stress I put on my hair. Let's just say, it isn't always pretty. Somehow I seem to get compliments on how soft and silky my hair looks. I owe it all to OI Oil! This little bottle will last a long time. I only use 1 pump everyday. *Tip ~ After curling your hair, add a drop to the palm of your hands and rub it around. Then run your fingers through your hair. This will give you soft beautiful curls! ![]() I said it before, and I'll say it again. I love this light hold hairspray. I use it to tame any little fly aways on my updo's. Not to mention this fabulous hairspray, is humidity resistant. We all could use a little of that, when living in FL! Moral of the story, when you need a light hold, and something you can count on, count on DermOrganic Shaping Spray! *Tip ~ If your hair is really clean apply a light mist then comb through it. This will help build a little traction, so your hair isn't to slippery! ![]() Alrighty Ladies! If you can't keep a curl to save your life, give Kenra Thermal Styling Spray a try. Liberally spray each strand of hair before curling it. I love this product. When working on a wedding, I need curls to last all day. This is what I trust. You should to! *Tip ~ Curl your entire head, and let the curls cool before running your fingers through it. There you have it! These are just a few of my favorite things. What products do you trust? Tell me about it!!
![]() I was so excited and nervous at the same time. My very first bridal show. The moment of truth. What do potential brides think about my hair, art!? ..................... They loved it! I met lots of wonderful brides, and other wedding vendors. My husband just happens to work for a fabulous DJ, and they were at the show as well. I can't say that it didn't work out, for my benefit. He just happens to be one of my biggest fans. He was constantly encouraging the lovely brides to take a gander at my work. Not only did he send me brides, he would snag me a few treats here and there. Among the vendors, there was cake, cupcakes, and some appetizers. We all know, that the tantalizing smell, and beautiful looking cakes and cupcakes, are for the guests. But, we just can't help ourselves. Just a little taste.. divine! Here's a few pic's of our booth! What do you think? ![]() One thing that makes a great bridal show, is great vendors. I was fortunate enough to meet: Ron Redd - Accent Entertainment
Shannon Tarrant - Mission Inn
Kristin - Our DJ Rocks
Erica Jaze - Trilogy Magnolia House
Make sure you ask your stylist questions! How many updos do you do in a year? Have you taken any classes to further your education? Will you come to where I am getting ready? Do you charge more to come to me? If they can't give you answers that make you feel confident, then reconsider! Ok, you've done some research, but now what? Most updo artists will offer or insist that you do a consultation with them. Do it! Be prepared. Have pictures and communicate what you want clearly, such as all up, all down, curls, waves, half up, a bun, messy, sophisticated, braids and the list goes on.. Be open-minded and talk to your stylist, but have realistic expectations. Some brides dream of having their hair down, but it might look best if it's all up depending on the dress. You might need to reconsider! Have a picture of your dress and jewelry, or show it to your stylist. If you have a veil or headpiece, bring it to the consultation. ![]() The consultation is the perfect time to tell your stylist what you like and don't like about your updo. Don't be afraid to tell the truth. Your stylist depends on it. It's a lot easier to change something during the consult than try to communicate what you want on your wedding day. If all else fails, have another consultation. It's unrealistic for some brides to have a consultation if you are having a destination wedding or hiring a stylist from out of town. Just make sure you ask all the right questions, and check out their portfolio! Last but not least, I know most of you have a wedding day budget. Often, the bride forgets about her hair and makeup until the wedding day is upon her. We are one of the last vendors to get booked with the exception being highly organized brides. Either way, think long-term. You will be looking at these pictures forever. Is it really worth letting your best friend work her magic on your locks? Or on her own locks? Consider hiring the stylist for you as well as all your bridesmaids. Even moms and grandmas like to get in on the action. Here's hoping your wedding day is everything you ever dreamed of and more! ![]() I had the honor of designing up-do's for Audrey's wedding. Such a sweet, laid back bride. It's always so neat to see so, many people come together for someone they love. These girls we're beautiful! We had an early day planned for these beauties. We arrived around 6am! It took us a few phone calls, to finally find these sleeping beauties. Apparently they had a great party, the night before. After a few rounds of coffee, one by one they trickled in, finding their way to hair and make-up. Just because we had such a fabulous photographer, who sent us lot's of great images.. Here's a few more. Thanks Ashley McCormick!
It's all the rage! I'm sure you've seen them all over Pintrest. Most brides or bridesmaids, are head over heels for them. I can't say that I blame them! I love the detail, and uniqueness they give to each updo. Here's a few that I've done recently.
